Here are finished pieces from Val's art class this weekend--Introduction to Acrylics. It was such a gratifying class! I'm now ready to take on some larger canvases so I can paint some pieces to hang in our home, or to give to friends and family. This art gig is too much fun!
Click on the sunflowers to see how we got to play with texture:
OK, this next one was just an exercise in working with the color wheel, specifically "split complementaries", as well as layering, masking, and working with textures. I had absolutely no plan for this painting, just working with the materials, but it turned out to look a little like a 2nd grade project on recounting 9/11....So I call it "Armageddon" or "Sunrise in New York", depending on if you're a glass-half-empty or glass-half-full kinda person....
Definitely not something I plan to hang in the house, or give to friends and family. :-)
